    Rules of the table

    Everything the game does is listed here. The code applies exactly these rules on every round.

    Hand values

    • Cards 2 to 10 count their face value.
    • Jack, Queen and King count 10.
    • An Ace counts 11, or 1 whenever 11 would take the hand over 21. A hand using an Ace as 11 is “soft” and shows an S on the dial.
    • An Ace plus any ten-value card as the first two cards is a blackjack.
    • Going over 21 is a bust and loses at once.

    The dealer’s rule

    The dealer takes one card face up and one face down. After you stand, the hole card turns over and the dealer draws on 16 or less and stands on every 17, including soft 17. No other choice is ever made.

    If either side is dealt a blackjack, the hole card is shown immediately and the round settles.

    One 52-card deck is used, shuffled with the browser’s cryptographic random source, and shuffled fresh when fewer than 15 cards remain.
